Shirley Ann Kehrer, age 84, of Westport, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 4, 2026.
Shirley was born to the late Matthew and Daisy (Denham) Kehrer on August 12, 1942, in Belle Rive, Illinois. As a young mother, she dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at Joliet Baptist Temple in Joliet, Illinois. In her later years, she attended First Baptist Church in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
A true country girl at heart, Shirley loved the simplicity and beauty of nature. After receiving a secretarial certificate from a junior college in Joliet and moving south, she poured her heart into her home, family, and farm life. Shirley had a true passion for raising farm birds, even setting up her own incubator to hatch various breeds of chickens, ducks, and guinea fowl.
She was a talented homemaker, an incredible cook, and an avid gardener who took great pride in tending to her yard and plants. Shirley also embraced technology early on—teaching herself how to build her own website to proudly display photos of her cherished children, grandchildren, and beloved animals.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Kehrer (1999) and Daisy (Denham) Kehrer (2007) of Huntingdon, TN; her ex-husband, William “Billy” Guinn (2023) of McKenzie, TN; her aunt, Laura (Denham) Schlag (2020) of Belle Rive, IL; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gene Kehrer (2026) and Doris Kehrer (2026) of Huntingdon, TN.
Shirley is survived and lovingly remembered by her siblings Byford Kehrer of Huntingdon, TN, Jennetta (Kehrer) Brock of Huntingdon, TN, and Kenneth Kehrer of Decherd, TN; her sons John “Mike” Sarkozi of Bowling Green, KY, Steve Sarkozi of Westport, TN, and James “Jim” Sarkozi of Westport, TN; her grandchildren Tasha (Sarkozi) Hillsman, Tonya Sarkozi, Felicia Sarkozi, and Stephanie (Sarkozi) Truss; her great-grandchildren; as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM., on Tuesday at Westport Missionary Baptist Church, Westport Tennessee.
