What to expect

A Simple, Guided Process

We take care of the paperwork and the details, and we keep you informed at every step. The entire process usually takes a few days, though it can take up to a couple of weeks depending on how soon the required documents are obtained.

  1. We send you a secure linkWe will email you a link to our online portal.
  2. You share vital informationFamilies enter the vital statistic information needed for the death certificate and cremation permit.
  3. Authorization is signed digitallyWe email the authorizing agent(s) a cremation authorization form to sign digitally from a phone or computer.
  4. The physician certifiesOnce the death certificate has been reviewed and approved, it is assigned to the physician for cause of death and digital signature.
  5. We obtain the permitWe apply for a cremation permit from the medical examiner in the county of death.
  6. The cremation is scheduledOnce we have the cremation authorization forms, death certificate and cremation permit, we schedule the cremation.
  7. Death certificatesDeath certificates can be obtained from any Tennessee health department once the information has been approved by the informant and signed by the physician.
