In loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Joe Randolph James, who departed this life on August 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Joe was born on October 15, 1943 in Nashville, raised in Bold Springs, TN, to Randolph and Gertrude James. He had a twin brother, John, and two sisters who were also twins: Emma Sue and Mary Lou.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith in Jesus, and His example through the life he lived, the love he shared, and impression he left on all whom he encountered of genuineness and generosity.
Joe’s life was a journey filled with countless moments of joy and cherished relationships. He was preceded in death by parents Randolph and Gertrude, brother John, and sister Emma Sue. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; two sons, Randall (Amanda) and Steven (Grace); four grandchildren, Tristan, Andrew (Hailey-Ann), Claira, and Evelyn; sister Mary Lou, and sister-in-law Jane James, along with loved ones who will forever cherish his memory and legacy of kindness.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, August 29, 2026 at McEwen Church of Christ from 10am to 12pm. Funeral service for Joe James will be Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 12pm at McEwen Church of Christ conducted by Allen Vick. Internment will follow at Young Cemetery in Bold Springs, TN.
