Donna Kay Hicks (Sutton) passed peacefully at Lyons View Health and Rehab on December 17, 2025, at the age of 66.
Donna was born on May 8, 1959, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated from Walters State with a degree in Nursing and devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Donna worked at UT Family Physicians and the UT Student Health Center until her retirement, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for people.
Donna had a friendly spirit and a heart for others. She loved people deeply and had a special love for her dogs. Most importantly, Donna loved the Lord and placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. While she loved life, she lived with the assurance that her true home was in Heaven. She was at peace when it was her time to go and longed to be reunited with her parents.
Donna is survived by her brother, Kenny Sutton; her niece, Chelsey Manis (Sutton); her best friend and roommate, Ann Archer; and her beloved dog, Summit.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Sutton (Davis); her father, Roy Sutton; and her cherished dog, Harley.
Donna was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that because of Jesus, this is not goodbye, but “see you later.”
A small celebration of life will be held at a later date.
