Bonita Story Elam – Age 60 – Coldwater, MS

Bonita Story Elam, of Coldwater, MS,  passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 60.

Bonita will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, William Elam; her children, Caroline Elam, Carson Zile, and Kiersten Bagley; and her beloved grandchildren, Calynn Costilow and Mabel Zile. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother.

Bonita spent many years working in the DeSoto County School System, where her love for children was evident in the care and kindness she showed to those around her. Those who knew Bonita will remember her for her beautiful soul, kind heart, and love for her family. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives, and the memories she created with those she loved will be cherished for years to come.

A Celebration of Life honoring Bonita will be held at a later date.
