Barbara Darlene Piburn, 71 passed away on Sunday October 27,2024 in Kingston Springs, TN with her family by her side after a hard and courageous battle against ALS. Barbara was born on March 10, 1953 in Excelsior Springs, MO to Darnell and Betty (McKown) Green. She grew up and attended school in Excelsior Springs.
On January 24, 1970 she was united in marriage to Mike Piburn. Barbara served as the Pastor’s Wife in Christian Union and Evangelical Free Churches. She worked at the Christian Union Bookstore; PN Hirsch; The Flower Peddler and KLJC/Life 88.5 radio station. Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mike Piburn of the home; her 2 daughters and sons-in-law Stacy & Dale Smith of St. Charles, MO and Amy & Sean Adlich of Kingston Springs, TN, Barbara’s grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. She was determined to attend as many of her grandchildren’s events as she could. Her grandchildren are Jacob & Kennedy Terry of Knob Noster, MO; Danielle Adlich of Chicago, IL; Courtney & Crystal Habermehl of Independence, MO. Barbara also had 4 great-grandchildren; Coastlyn & Grey Terry of Knob Noster, MO and Aubrey & Spencer Habermehl of Independence, MO.
Barbara is also survived by the following family members: 2 sisters, Linda Drussell of KC, MO; Lori Wilson of Excelsior Springs, MO. 3 sisters-in-law, Theresa Green of Lawson, MO; Jeanie (Stephen) T arwater of Blue Springs, MO; Pat (Kevin) Richcreek of Nachadoches, TX. 2 brothers-in-law, David Piburn and John Piburn both of KC, MO. Barbara also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Darnell Green; Betty & Everett Wislon; her in-laws Lloyd & Joanne Piburn; her brother Danny Green; and her granddaughter Madison Adlich.
A Celebration of LIfe service will be held on Saturday November 16, 2024 at Flack Memorial Church 1300 Tracy Ave Excelsior Springs, MO at 11:00. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior from 10:00-11:00. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Flack Memorial Church, Contributions can be left or mailed to the church. Barbara’s family will carry on her love of ice cream, jigsaw puzzles, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, gardening, flowers, birds as well as her 2 dogs Bella and Lucy. Cremation services provided by Cremation and Funeral Services of Tennessee.
