Matthew Wayne Clayton (1971-2024)
Matthew Wayne Clayton, age 52, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on March 15th, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on May 8th, 1971, he was the son of the late Gary Leon Clayton and Martha Evelyn King Clayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Leon and Martha Evelyn Clayton, and uncles, Jimmy, and George D. Clayton.
A 1990 graduate of Stratford High School, Matthew was known for his outgoing nature and approachability, making friends easily throughout his life. He had a knack for storytelling and could always be counted on for a good laugh. Yet, beneath his humor, he often shared valuable life lessons and teachable moments with those who cared for him the most.
Matthew is survived by his daughters, Camryn Brook Clayton, and Cassidy Paige Clayton; brother, Gary L. “Bo” Clayton; sister-in-law, Eleanor Clayton; nephew, Anthony L. Clayton; niece, Alana T. Clayton; and aunt and uncle, Linda, and Jackie Tankersley.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future if a service is scheduled.
