Elisabeth Thekla Krey was born on February 13, 1938, to the late Fritz and Therese Reitmayr in Augsburg, Germany. She gained her angelic wings on August 31, 2025, while residing at Quality Care and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. She previously resided at Trousdale Senior Assisted Living in Hartsville, Tennessee.
Elisabeth was also known as Else, Lisa, Nana, and “TikTok” to her family and friends. She was born in Augsburg, Germany, at the beginning of World War II, during the years leading up to the conflict. Despite the difficult times of her childhood, those early experiences shaped her into a strong and determined woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Therese Reitmayr; the love of her life, Stewart E. Krey; and one daughter, JoAnn Krey.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Larry) Young; her son, Tracy (Dawn) Krey; her sister, Brigitte (Ken) Sexton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends in both Germany and the United States.
She will always be remembered for her unyielding strength and independence.
A Celebration of Life will be held near the end of October 2025 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
